Well Solly came (to his foster) home today. It's a cow-dog world around here! The vet said that Solly was the smartest of the bunch that just came in. I don't know if that's true but he's awful friendly. He's just so sweet. And handsome.
I'd say he's average size for a male. He's a little tall but very skinny, maybe 70-75lbs. We're in New Haven & if you'd like to meet him he will be at the North Haven M&G on Sunday.
Solly spent the night in his crate and was absolutely silent. Do you think we could start a trend? We haven't tried him on the stairs and he hasn't shown curiosity on his own, but when the time comes it shouldn't be a problem. I still can't believe he likes toys. He was snuggling in his crate with the lion earlier.
Well Solly had a pretty quiet second day. He stayed in his crate or on the dog bed for the most part. He does come up to you and stand very patiently waiting for scritches. We also had a pretty loud thunderstorm earlier and that didn't bother him. Smart he is!
I think Solly thinks he's still at the racetrack - he loves spending time in his crate! The door is open and he is free to come & go as he pleases but he just loves laying in it. If he's not laying in the crate he's on the floor next to the crate! I'm sure as he gets a little more comfortable he'll come out of his shell a bit more, but for now he's just a quiet, well-mannered boy.
This morning Solly has a pink monkey, a lion AND a ducky in his crate. He's been busy. Last night Solly kept sneaking up behind David and poking Dave's arm with his nose to get scritchin. It was cute.
So this morning David went upstairs to get dressed. Malibu & Gordon followed him up and Solly followed them! He got almost all the way to the top step then he chickened out and came back down. So we figured it was time to teach him the stairs. Now he's a stair running fool.
He's become much less dependent on his crate. He's a really sweet, curious boy. He likes to come and stand next to you and nose you until you scritch him. And last night he even joined in the group roo!
