Pups Without Partners

Every December, a week or so before Christmas, a firetruck goes through the neighborhoods with Santa on the back. As the truck goes around, it sounds it's siren signalling everyone to come outside and catch the popcorn balls Santa and his Elves throw.

My 6-year-old Phoebe has gone through this ritual for several years and she remembers what's going on. As soon as she hears the siren, she goes running for the door and looks up and down the street. As the truck passes, she spins in circles and whines because she wants her popcorn ball.

As soon as we bring the popcorn balls in, she sits and patiently waits. She devours her treat in no time flat!

So, what does your greyhound do that makes you smile?

Gordon occassionally snuggles in the big bed and wakes me up with hot pupper breath on the back of my neck. Bailey used to do this a lot, so whenever it happens it's a special treat for me. At dinner time he dances for his meals. I'll have to post a video sometime. It's greyt.

Skyy is the sweetest, friendliest girl you could ever hope to meet. To humans that is. Her stuffy killer personality goes absolutely out the window as soon as a child walks by. She loves meeting new people, especially children and is so docile, kind and tolerant it amazes me. Plus she gives the best kisses.

Malibu is just Malibu. He's crazy goofy. He's terrified of the floors. It took him two years to work up the nerve to jump on the couch after we bought a new one. And whenever he's outside he has to jump and spin 360 degrees. But no one loves scritchin more than Mal. And he's started sleeping with us at night. And that this wonderfully quirky personality is wrapped up in a greyhound-Adonis package is just a bonus!
