Picnic Day Details
A few extra details of the day’s events. It's not too late to register online, just go to http://www.pupswithoutpartners.org/picnic2010.htm to purchase your tickets.
Gates open at 11am. Please visit the registration table on arrival. If you have ordered t-shirts they will be distributed here. Beginning at 11 our vendors will be open for business, as will our silent auction and raffles. We have some amazing prizes available, among them a race-used lure from Ebro Racetrack in Florida, a Vermont getaway and tickets to local attractions including the Long Wharf Theatre, Bridgeport Soundtigers and Six Flags New England. We will also be holding a 50/50 raffle. Also beginning at 11 and continuing throughout the day will be toenail clipping for $10.
Lunch will be served beginning at 12pm. Beginning at 12:30 we will start holding our contests, which consist of best kisser, longest tail, prettiest eyes, best trick, baldest butt, softest coat, oldest, and an egg drop race. Schedules will be posted noting the times for each contest, be sure to participate or come to our contest area to cheer on your favorites.
Our contests will conclude with a costume contest. Be sure to bring your grey dressed to impress, or bring a costume to change into at the site. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of wacky greys! We’ll even have a parade for all those greys who come dressed up.
We will begin to wrap up our activities at 3pm with a Blessing of the Hounds, followed by a group roo. All raffle tickets and silent auction bids must be in by 3pm. Winners will be announced and have until 4pm to pick up their winnings. Vendors will also be open until 4pm for last minute shoppers.
We will have dogs available for adoption on hand to visit with potential adopters. If you are considering adding a new member to your pack this is an ideal time to meet many of our fosters. Adoptions will not take place during the event.
Children’s games and activities will be ongoing throughout the day.
Please remember to bring a folding chair and water for your hounds. We look forward to seeing you on June 27th.
