Pups Without Partners

I have been looking for a friendly site to enjoy discussing greyhounds.  My name is Anita, I live in MO and have 5 adopted greyhounds and right now 3 fosters greys.  I also do rescue in my small town so I have several little foster dogs that will be adopted to folks in the New England area.  I have been involved in rescue for 20+ years and have a large pack of dogs most are elderly or have medical problems and were unadoptable, they have a safe home here for the rest of their lives.

I hope to just enjoy reading about everyone's greyhounds and learn from everyone.  Thanks for the invitation to join this group Penny.

Hi Anita & welcome to the site. We love pictures BTW :) What type of little dogs do you foster?
Thanks for joining Anita. We hope to make this site a greyt resource for new and prospective adopters as well as us old hands. Feel free to share your experiences and knowledge. With your pack I'm sure you have some insight on how greyhounds adapt and get along with other dogs and pets - one of the more common questions we get from new adopters.

Lets see some pics of those pups!

Cheers,
Mike V.
I am really pleasantly suprised how well the GHs have adjusted to life with a bunch of different sized dogs. Teddy, my first GH, was dumped at out little town shelter last Aug. He has no tatoos and I have no history on him, I fell in love with him and decided he needed another grey to run with him so I adopted Spice out of FL. in Dec. In March, I saw an add in the paper for greyhounds in Arkansas, I drove down and adopted Mandy from her owner then the rescue in FL where I adopted Spice called to see if I would take a brindle boy that had sat for a long time and Spencer came home in April. Then Blossom needed a home because she is a spook and no one wanted her so Blossom arrived in June. Spencer is the only one that I have had to work with as far as the little dogs, he is not cat safe and I think he saw the little dogs as just another cat at first. He has gotten a lot better but I still have to watch him closely. I am a pretty new greyhound person but I have learned a lot in the last few months and I could not be more thrilled with a breed of dog, they are wonderful. The director of the group where I adopted Spice, Spencer and Blossom has moved up here to MO. so now I am fostering for her. GHs are few and far between up here so we are hoping to get the word out about how great they are as pets and see if we can make some adoptions happen. I will post some pictures of my kids tonight. I'm sure I will learn a lot here. Thanks. Anita
My greys are posted, hope you enjoy the pictures. They are the sweetest kids ever. I will try to get some pictures of my foster greys tomorrow. Anita
