Pups Without Partners

To All Greyhound Families: REMINDER
Many of you never had the pleasure of meeting the track vet Dr. Luibi Tosici at Shoreline Star where many of your beloved greyhounds came from. Many of you are enjoying the company of a dog that had a career ending injury such as a broken leg or muscle tear. If Shoreline didnt have Dr. T you may very well not have your dog. Dr. T is the reason we started the medical fund which assisted many broken greyhounds. He insisted that these dogs should not have to die because they could not run. He brought to the table HOPE. Dr. T was the one who made us start to fix broken legs both front and back. Shoreline Star was the first track to fix broken front legs. Our first candidate was adopted out by one of Grateful Greyhounds Families. Im Nova has her very life to thank this man. Broken front legs are a no question euthanasia case. Not with Dr T. Nova started a trend that with Dr T no dog that could be fixed and live a pain free life was saved. Dr. T also taught me how to save dogs in t rouble from many issues one being dehydration. Thank God he taught me, with this knowledge others were able to learn to help dogs and many have been saved. He taught me how to provide proper animal husbandry. He made it real simple to help animals. Money was not his first concern. Which brings me to the reason I am writing this email.

On April 7, 2010 Doctor Luibinco Tosci was taken from us. The ugly cancer rose its head and claimed a dear man a good soul. I saw him a few days before he passed, that day I wont forget. His body ravaged by cancer but his brain as clear as could be. He told me Penny dying is easy living is hard. Then he made arrangements for another vet to prescribe my dogs medicine on my request! His true devotion was to animals.

After our Birthday Bash I was laying in bed thinking god I wish luibi could have seen this 15 years and 8000 greyhounds later. And out of the clear blue sky I had an idea. We needed to properly honor this man. WE needed to have a party to help his mission continue, helping animals. So knowing doc as well as I do(yeah do) i knew he had a penchant for Oktoberfest parties even though he was Romanian. So the idea was born WE needed to have a DOCTOBERFEST in his honor, and to raise money for the rescue groups he was so fond of.
So without further ado:

Please consider yourself invited to:
1st Annual DOCTOBERFEST Friday Oct 22nd, 2010 6pm-10pm
The event is a fundraiser for the following charitys near and dear to Dr. T
Pups Without Partners Greyhound Adoption, Greater New Haven Cat Project, Halfway Home Animal Rescue, Sarah Inc and the Dr. Luibi Animal wellness fund.
Greater New Haven Cat Project does a lot of trap and alter and return as well as placing non feral cats as pets.
Halfway Home does the same for cats, rehomes unwanted cats and dogs and even rescues horses.
The Dr Luibi animal wellness fund is designed to assist owners who can not afford unforseen medical issues that arise that would cause them to get rid of or euthanize their pet. The fund will assist with these issues as long as the animal resides in a safe environment. (hopefully the home that they have been in)

The event will feature a dinner of romanian style food, dancing to the dj, raffles and silent auctions as well as good company. Oh i forgot the best part it will be a BEER TASTING as well. Beer from all over the world for everyone to try.
Tickets are available at www.pupswithoutpartners.org for $35.00 per person. This is a 21 and over only event

If there are enough folks from LI we will get a van to pick you up at the BPT/PJ ferry shuttle you to the event and have you back in time for last ferry which is 10pm. We can also get complimentary tickets for your passage to and from as a walk on passanger.
