Solly's personality is really starting to come out. He is SO goofy! He just loves his toys. Now that he's comfortable on the stairs he runs upstairs to our toy bin and runs back down with a new plaything almost every day. And he's very curious about things. He has to sniff everything he can, and if he knocks something over while he's sniffing then he runs back to his crate. Then slowly he peeks out to see if everything is ok and then goes to sniff whatever he just knocked over. He's really adorable.
And it did! Solly met his new mom yesterday morning and she is *in love* with him. I think they are going to do very well together. He'll go home at the end of the week. Congratulations Solly!
That just means his perfect forever home is still out there. He is absolutely beautiful. I have wanted a cowboy since I adopted # 1, my beautiful Beau, but it has not been meant to be!
I do have a 11.5 year old cowbroodie (she thinks she is 2) and if I could have another (have 5) he is exactly the type of puppy I was looking for.
Keeping Solly in my thoughts and prayers that his new family is coming along soon.
How kid/noise proof is he? Besides 2 highschoolers we have a toddler and preschooler who are generally quiet but once in a while there could be squeal/squawk over a toy. They've been very good with my parents' dog who we "dog sit" from time to time and they don't bother him. The kids will be supervised with whatever dog we get.
Well so far he's done well with my 8 year old. He doesn't mind a child running around him. He is however a puppy and he does get a little playful. I don't think it would be a problem if he and the kids are supervised, but he is a big goofy dog and could knock somebody over in his haste. He also is very keen on toys and there would have to be a clear delineation of what toys he is allowed and not allowed to play with. That said, he has not been territorial about his toys and I can take them away from him without a problem. He's very sensitive and wants to please you and doesn't like being corrected (if you raise your voice to him he runs in his crate).
I already told the girls that when we get a dog their stuffed animals have to stay in their room :o) Would it be possible to meet him with the girls to see how they interact?
